Roger Hallam creates his own media space and says "it's time for Revolution" on the climate

We were surprised and delighted to see Extinction Rebellion co-founder Roger Hallam’s website - a slick and comprehensive enterprise, with research to back up his apocalyptic climate claims.

At the Alternative Global, we often cite Roger’s lectures at the Radical Think Tank, King’s College in 2016 - one of which we caught - as being crucial to our own climate radicalisation. He is an eloquent and unignorable voice in the urgency of this discussion.

So here’s some highlights from his site below:

This is a monthly round-up of climate science that includes “Carbon Brief's new report showing that a 2C world would also lead to polar oceans that are “ice-free” in summer and suffering “essentially permanent corrosive ocean acidification”. The trend signals an imminent rise in global sea level “between 12 and 20 metres” of sea level rise “if 2C becomes the new constant". More on that here.

Over 31 YouTube episodes, recorded in and out of his imprisonment, Hallam also delivers his “Designing The Revolution” course. Recent episodes include Democracy in the 21st Century, How do Revolutions Survive? The Shift to Postmaterialism, and Revolutionizing Governance: Democracy in the 21st Century. In his concluding video, Roger hints that a much more developed media platform is being built behind the scenes, to amplify climate revolutionaries - we look forward to that.
