Get lost in “Everything”, trip out with “Stevie”, and dance your way to “Freedom”. Some music-vids to make you ready for anything

Our occasional audio-visual phantasmagoria is back again, restoring your inner wells of energy for those outer challenges we all know about… This week, three music videos

Above is a non-3D version (the 3D version is here) of video-makers Fascinated By Everything’s visualisation of Warpaint’s new song “Stevie”. As Creative Review report:

“Thinking of visuals for Stevie we weren’t seeing a story or performance, but a kind of Tunnel of Love image kept coming to my head, more like waves of serotonin, what love feels like,” says the band’s Emily Kokal.

“Right around that time showed us what he was working on and it was like, ‘Woah, this is way more Tunnel of Love than we could’ve imagined!’”

The video is reminiscent of viral clips of people zipping down huge slides, filled with flashing lights – but taken to a trippy new level.

As well as the standard video, there’s a version created for Oculus VR headset owners who want an even more immersive experience of what Holmes describes as the “inter-dimensional kaleidoscopic beauty”.

Max Cooper announces new album Unspoken Words, released 25th March on Mesh - with the lead single from the project "Everything" and its accompanying video.

"Everything" is an excitable expression of freedom and joy, an explosion of colour referencing classic synth sounds from Max Cooper’s formative years and the golden era of idealism in music and popular culture of the '80 and '90s.

Cooper: “For the visual story I worked with my long term collaborator Nick Cobby, along with the photographer Andrey Prokhorov. Andrey has a huge library of imagery from around the world and I wanted to try and put everything inside the minds and bodies of the people of Mexico City, where Nick is based, in order to mirror the explosion of feelings and ideas of the music in visual form. It tells the story of our escape from constraints as we move towards the final mental expansion of the narrative.”

Finally, this years 2022 Grammy winner for Best Video - Jon Baptiste’s Freedom. From Offbeat magazine:
