Just imagine if it all went RIGHT by 2084, asks Michael Rogers - a century on from the famous dystopian date

A treat from our great friend David Wood at London Futurists. Lecture embedded above, blurb below:

The inspirational new book by Michael Rogers, "Email from the Future: Notes from 2084", covers topics ranging from healthcare, education, and advanced AI, to space travel, marriage, mind preservation, gaming, and religion - as well as the next phase of human evolution.

Whilst optimistic about what humanity can achieve, the book is also refreshingly realistic about the challenges facing us in the decades ahead.

Michael says that writing this book led him to ponder the legacy of Utopian literature, and its potential relevance to contemporary futurism.

Here’s Micheal’s biography:

Michael Rogers is an author and futurist, who also served as futurist-in-residence for The New York Times. His consultancy, Practical Futurist, has worked with companies ranging from FedEx and NBC Universal to GE and Microsoft.

He then launched Newsweek’s technology column and was vice president of The Washington Post Company's new media division, earning patents for his work as well as awards for his online coverage of 9/11. He is also a best-selling novelist whose books have been published worldwide.

Michael studied physics and creative writing at Stanford University, with additional work at the Stanford Business School Executive Program.
