Connection, Meaning and Politics: Indra Adnan talking about her new book, "The Politics of Waking Up" (with Jeremy Lent)

We’re delighted to bring the recording of part two of our “Connection, Meaning and Politics” series, where Indra Adnan, A/UK founder and author of the new book The Politics of Waking Up: Power and Possibility in the Fractal Age”, is in discussion with our great friend Jeremy Lent, who also has a new book out, Web Of Meaning: Integrating Science and Traditional Wisdom to Find Our Place in the Universe”. Tonight, as A/UK initiator Pat Kane says in his introduction:

The overlap between these two is obvious and exciting. That overlap is a new politics, based on an expanded and enriched view of human nature. One that is connected, meaning driven, integral and holistic. And that leaves well behind homo economicus, nudge theory or Cambridge Analytica’s button-pressing. Given our urgent crises of climate, technology and polarisation, we need to get beyond all that. And these two are helping us get there.

So back in June, Jeremy was interviewed by Indra about the Web of Meaning, and what would be required to get us to an “ecological civilisation”. Tonight, Indra will be interviewed by Jeremy, about what the idea of “waking up” - on every front, conceptually and emotionally as well as ideologically - can bring to a new conception of politics.

(We are editing Part One at the moment, which will go up on next week’s Daily Alternative).
