Here's the video of our Elephant session with Karen Downes, advocate for FemmeQ (feminine intelligence) in business and activism

We’re very happy to present a lightly edited YouTube of last Tuesday’s (19th May) Zoom discussion with Karen Downes as part of A/UK’s The Elephant Meets... series.

The discussion ranged from:

  • How male leaders in corporate life privately crave an expression of the feminine

  • How female change-makers could access their masculine energies

  • How a much more balanced and integrated gender landscape could transform business practice, towards one that felt properly connected to people, community and planet

  • The distance still needing to be travelled by the feminist revolution, to promote and protect girls and women, right across the world.

Karen has had a remarkable career, building a global business in essential oils before moving her attention and energy to the bigger challenge of the transformation of corporate culture. She has worked with major clients from Virgin to Coca-Cola, introducing the concept of a feminine intelligence as the route to a more humane connection with people and planet. Karen has also worked in global NGOs such as the Hunger Project in India and Africa to initiate new relationships between people and Aid. (For more on Karen, read our previous blog).

Karen is currently a co-chair in Catalyst 2030, a network of global social entrepreneurs and philanthropists  - including The Alternative UK - that are collaborating to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals by the end of the decade.

Come and join us next on Zoom to hear Katherine Trebeck on an economy of love and solidarity, on June 2 - see blog for details.
