We were recently contacted by Elizabeth Mills, a supporter of our work who is on the staff of the Institute of Art and Ideas (they organise the annual philosophy conference How The Light Gets In).

Elizabeth wanted to bring the video below to our attention. It’s from the filmmaker, philosopher and activist David Fuller, founder of Rebel Wisdom, and the topic couldn’t be more pertinent. See the blurb below:

In this world of ever increasing polarisation and division, how can we learn to have more productive and generative conversations? David Fuller outlines the neuroscience and psychology of conflict and polarisation whilst teaching techniques from mindfulness, breathwork and counselling to hack our physiology to have better conversations with those we disagree with.

We are also interested on A/UK in techniques and practices that overcome polarisation, and how they might be used in everyday community and political situations.

For more background on the presentation below, go to Rebel Wisdom’s excellent YouTube site, and particularly their 4-part series on “The Science and Psychology of Polarisation
