Striking graphics showing how the Preston Model works, and how community wealth builds
Everyone's talking about The Preston Model (including us) - a strategy for local development which makes unusual, horizontal and vital connections between different elements in towns and cities. But the US-based The Next System Project felt that it needed a graphic to show how Preston works as a system - what flows into what, who connects with who. The result is above (here's a PDF, and a hi-def download, and the supporting blog).
The P2P Foundation - on whose blog we found the Preston graphic - have also done some work in making a graphic out of the principles of "community wealth building" that lie behind the Preston model - see below:
