THE WORLD: How does it appear to us? How do we influence it?

OVERVIEW: I, WE, WORLD - WHAT WE'RE FOCUSSING ON IN THE LABS

Globalisation is currently being blamed for all our ills. Yet we know that no country can stand alone, indifferent to the fate of others: the health of any one of us, depends upon the health of the whole.

Each one of us is both a citizen of a country and a citizen of the world – our survival depends upon our coming together to tackle the problems without a passport: climate change, poverty, people flow, conflict, drugs. There is no reversing our interconnectedness.

Politicians everwhere have a dual mandate: to protect their own and to protect the world in which we live.
