Growing like the concentric rings of a mighty tree... a visualisation of waves of immigration to the US. What would ours look like?

We need to do this for the UK… From Fast Company’s Co.Design page, a piece on a brilliant and beautiful bit of information graphics from the US. It shows the waves of immigration in American society from the beginning, as if they were the growing rings of a tree trunk. Mesmerising and, indeed, moving.

This was an award-winner in the Information Is Beautiful Kantar awards last year - the site is very much worth diving into, for edification and pleasure.
