Maria Dorthea Skov recently visited Copenhagen and had the change to catch up with Rolf Bjerre from Alternativet. Last time we met Rolf was in the week leading up to the local and regional election and sadly, Rolf did not get elected for either. Now he devotes his time to a cause close to his heart - developing Alternativet's policies around blockchain technology and cryptocurrency.

For this purpose, and with the firm conviction that change must come from the bottom up, he has set up the 'Crypto Club' - a weekly meet-up for those interested in learning more about the blockchain, communicating the knowledge they gain to others and put it to use when developing policies. The meet-ups include talks, panel and group debates, focused group work, idea generation and presentations - always with a good dose of 'hygge'.

In the video below Rolf tells us more about setting up the Crypto Club while also sharing the details on Alternativet stepping into power; the new online platform he is developing; how buddhist monks are using the blockchain; and why we all need to learn too.

Are you interested in setting up and/or taking part in a The Alternative UK Crypto Club? And be a part of The Alternative's first international knowledge-sharing project? Get in touch on info@thealternative.org.uk.

Till then we'll share the Copenhagen club's 'need to watch' list for the best explanatory YouTube videos to watch if  you're, like many of us, have not yet "caught on to the blockchain".
