THE POWER OF THE ARTS: moving us to see and think differently
Politics has a habit of tagging art onto the sides of campaigns. After the manifesto has been written, artists, musicians, dancers are invited to decorate the offer, attract the people to the stall.
But arts precede politics: look around you, how design, soundscapes, imagery, advertising is influencing the way you think, act and feel.
We all have creative capacities and the best creatives are shaping society. Music bringing together people in ever expanding festivals world wide. Political posters driving people apart, nationally and locally.
Because art can deliver complex messages in ways that politics never can, we are bringing artists of all kinds – including the artist in every one of us – to begin the project of re-imagining politics.
